Football Nights Accommodation in South Africa Features on Carte Blanche
Football Nights Accommodation (FNA), South Africa’s premier hospitality and private residential collection, have opened their doors to a large numbers of disappointed and outraged South Africans.
An estimated 600 homeowners have been left out in the cold after signing up with another accommodation provider, Classic Hospitality, to rent out their flats or houses during the Games. The company allegedly sent out e-mails yesterday to their clients saying its negotiations with MATCH Hospitality, which oversees accommodation for the tournament, fell through and that their deals were now off.
With just days to go before the start of the World Cup and with a flood of tourists expected to make last minute accommodation bookings, FNA have stepped up to the penalty line and are offering to help market these properties to international guests.
The comprehensive full hospitality service site is already marketing thousands of hospitality establishments and private residential homes that were relinquished by Match two months ago. It’s alleged a number of properties registered were overpriced, which led to a decrease in the number of visitors prepared to rent out the properties.
“We have proved in the past to have the platform to reach the international community and have an intensive marketing campaign in place to insure both our local and our international clients get the service they deserve,” said Dave Varney, CEO of FNA.
FNA’s marketing includes radio campaigns in the UK, an intensive weekly International PR Campaign into 14 countries, electronic and print media, as well as to all football related entities from clubs and stadia to manufacturers.
They will also be chartering a full service Boeing 747 from Brazil to South Africa, which will hopefully bring an estimated 2,000 fans to the games, at fares that are significantly reduced. FNA will be releasing more information on the Boeing 747 shortly.
Any groups of homeowners who wish to make use of FNA’s services, can e-mail them at support@footballnights.co.za.

Football Nights Accommodation, South Africa’s premier hospitality and private residential collection, today announced the launch of the FNA 747 & Accommodation Service.
Experts say most Brazilian fans are likely to only make up their minds to travel and support their team in South Africa towards the end of the group stages. Estimates range from 6 000 to well over 20 000 fans who are likely to make the trip from around the 21st June and stay until their team brings the trophy home.
What many fans aren’t aware of is that there are very few seats left on large airlines and the seats that are left are selling at a whopping R19 000 return.
This is where Football Nights Accommodation (FNA) has come on board.
FNA are offering flights from Brazil to South Africa from just before the Brazil / Portugal game in Durban until just after the final on the 11th July in Johannesburg.
Flight prices are going for a steal at between R12 000 and R14 000 return, which is a huge saving for Brazilian fans, with the added advantage of accommodation services provided by FNA. From the inexpensive to the insanely expensive, FNA have thousands of homes, hotels, B&Bs, resorts, game lodges and luxury tented safari camps, available in every city.
The offer is on a first come, first serve basis, as the FNA 747 service will be limited to around 3 000 seats.

Are you proudly South African? Then get on board and join The Vuvuzela Call!
Football Nights Accommodation (FNA) has launched The Vuvuzela Call, an initiative that aims to help change the international perception of South Africa and the African continent as a whole.
Since South Africa won the bid for the Soccer World Cup, various negative stories about our country have been doing their rounds overseas. While some are true, the majority are hugely exaggerated. Tourists are nervous about visiting our country, with many sadly choosing to watch the games from the safety of their sofas instead of booking their flights to sunny SA and being a part of the action. While SA is by no means a country without its problems, there are thousands of positive stories coming out of our country every day that are not being told.
FNA, the only full-service and comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa, has since inception, consistently promoted South Africa and encouraged foreigners to visit our shores. The Vuvuzela Call is another extention of FNA’s commitment to promoting tourism to our country. The initiative hopes to engage all South Africans, show the world that we are standing behind our country as one and instil a sense of national pride behind the country’s national team.
All you need to do to get involved in The Vuvuzela Call is to register on the site, www.thevuvuzelacall.com and rally up friends, family, neighbours, colleagues, and who ever else you know to also join in.
FNA will track each person you welcome with your email address as being unique. The person who has welcomed the most people will have the esteemed title ‘Most hospitable South African’, while the person whose Vuvuzela Call reaches the most people will be titled ‘Loudest Vuvuzela’. FNA are offering prizes (of R5000 each) for both winners.
“While our short-term goal is to encourage foreigners to come to South Africa for the World Cup, we are also working on ways in which we can use The Vuvuzela Call to stimulate awareness as to the true nature of our beautiful country, as well as attract not only tourists but investment into South Africa long after the games are over,” said Rijn Varney, sales director of FNA.
“With the support of those as passionate about our amazing country as we are, we can start changing the international perception of SA. The more foreigners we as a nation can get to see past the embellishments of the international press, the more people will choose to visit us, and experience how beautiful and hospitable SA truly is firsthand. They’ll then spread the word back home, wherever that may be.”
Help us show the world that together as a country we can host a world cup that will be remembered for all the right reasons. Support FNA’s Vuvuzela call. Beat the drums, wave the flags and let your vuvuzela be heard. Ke Nako!

FNA offers an opportunity for property owners to advertise and promote their properties on a comprehensive website. Travellers are offered a one-stop service site that assists in finding, securing and paying for their required accommodation, as well as providing access to a number of additional services. FNA aims to make accommodation easy for anyone travelling to South Africa in the year 2010. Details: www.footballnights.co.za
A few months ago, thousands of accommodation establishments jumped on the ‘money bandwagon’ charging ridiculous rates and expecting to make a fortune during the World Cup.
FootballNights.co.za (FNA), the only full-service and comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa, has since inception, consistently advised their establishment and property owners to keep their rates reasonable, which almost all have done with commensurate reservation results. FNA continues to provide very competitive rates to international guests needing accommodation during June and July.
With the World Cup now just a ball’s throw away, accommodation bookings across the board are slower than imagined but, while others are sweating at the brow, FNA are quietly delighted with their fantastic response.
“The expected reservation pattern was severely impacted by the ticketing process, the impact of the recession and the ‘wait and see’ attitude of supporters,” said CEO Dave Varney, who has more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. “As we get closer to kick off, we have seen a steady increase, which in May will probably be frenetic, but the group stage booking period is going brilliantly.”
Currently FNA are breaking records in terms of their numbers, processing over half a million bed nights and expecting to reach the million mark in the next few weeks. They have secured in excess of 60 group bookings, ranging from groups of 20 to groups of 5200. In addition, they have received several bookings from various major European football clubs and are assisting several embassies and VIPs with accommodation.
Varney directly attributes FNA’s success to its value-for-money approach, combined with their services, offering visitors and tour/group operators a one-stop facility.
“The initial euphoria and expectation was unrealistic and so were the prices being charged, especially when one takes into consideration the bite of the recent global recession. We are delighted with the large number of home and establishment owners utilising our services, and even more delighted by the number of international guests coming to us for accommodation. We will continue to not only stay well ahead of the pack in terms of affordability, but also ahead in service delivery.”

A few months ago thousands of accommodation establishments jumped on the ‘money bandwagon’, charging ridiculous rates and expecting to make a fortune during the World Cup.
FootballNights.co.za (FNA), the only full-service, affordable and comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa, rufused to inflate their prices and continued to provide affordable rates to both homeowners wanting to rent out their properties, as well as international guests needing accommodation during June and July.
With the World Cup now just a ball’s throw away, accommodation bookings across the board are slower than one could ever have anticipated and, while others are sweating at the brow FNA are reaping the rewards.

18 March 2010
FootballNights.co.za (FNA), an online hospitality service, has gotten behind the wheel in helping thousands of people across South Africa make extra income during the Soccer World Cup.
The only full-service, affordable and comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa, FNA received countless requests from teachers looking to find part-time employment.
The requests flooded in following an announcement by the education department that schools will close during the games in an effort to avoid teacher and learner absenteeism, as well as to take some pressure off the public transport system.
Schools will close two days before the opening match on June 11, 2010, and reopen two days after the closing ceremony on July 11, 2010.
While learners are excited about their extended winter holiday, thousands of teachers will be left with free time on their hands – time they could use making much-needed extra income.
“With the soccer World Cup just around the corner, public transport is a constant topic for debate, especially issues like unroadworthy vehicles and unlicensed drivers,” said CEO Dave Varney, who has been in the hospitality and hotel industry for over three decades.
“To help tackle this problem, we launched an innovative, private initiative that will not only ensure all international guests have a safe journey but that South Africans wanting to make extra money during this period are given an opportunity to do so.”
FNA appointed Trainco Logistic Services to operate and manage ‘FNA Transport & Transfers’ and provide a fleet of registered, road-worthy and insured vehicles. FNA have also retained 3 500 teachers, all of whom are currently undergoing a screening process and assessment and their vehicles, which will be inspected at 75 roadworthy assessment centres across the country.
In addition to providing employment, FNA’s core is assisting thousands of South African homeowners in marketing their properties to international guests for a fraction of the price charged by other agencies.
Match, Fifa’s accommodation agent, recently relinquished the bed nights it initially reserved, back to local hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses, amounting to roughly 15 000 beds per night. It’s alleged a number of properties registered were overpriced, which led to a decrease in the number of visitors prepared to rent out the properties. Estate agencies have also jumped on the ‘money bandwagon’ and are charging astronomical prices for property, contributing to a poor reservation response.
While others charge anywhere between 30 and 50 percent commission, FNA only charge13 to 20 percent commission depending on the package the property owner selects.
“There is a perception that international guests coming here for the games will be throwing their money around. The truth is, just like South African are tightening their belts, so too are the international football community. We are experiencing a global recession and the initial euphoria that South Africans will be able to make a fortune for the properties is unrealistic,” said Varney.
“At FNA our main goal is to provide reliable, value-for-money accommodation and services. Because our prices are competitive, we have a constant stream of bookings coming in and are processing bookings from R1 500 for three nights to group bookings of R20-million. Reservation requests and referrals for two to five-star accommodation are also coming in daily, at a very healthy and encouraging pace.”

Football Nights Accommodation (FNA), a comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa, is rolling out red carpet treatment for VIP delegates heading to SA for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
Currently managing thousands of group and bulk bookings from exclusive VIP groups within South Africa, FNA have placed more than 4000 delegates.
Due to the high demand for accommodation from embassies and consulates, an exclusive embassy desk has been established, which operates 12 hours a day to assist with enquiries and arrangements.
Not only do FNA provide superior, deluxe and ultra luxurious accommodation at affordable rates, but they also take care of critical factors like land arrangements, visitors insurance, safety and security, as well as transportation. FNA have a fleet of over 5000 registered, road-worthy and insured vehicles, owner driven by trained and experienced drivers.
“With 30 years of experience in the leisure industry we are equipped to manage exclusive VIP groups to very large tour parties. Although other agencies are doing similar bookings, the majority of these agencies ultimately come to us because we have the accommodation and the infrastructure to facilitate large booking numbers,” said Dave Varney, CEO of FNA.
“All VIP guests registered with us can be assured that every aspect of their stay is taken care of, from the second they arrive in South Africa until the second they leave. We will ensure are valued guests receive the red carpet treatment they deserve.”
FNA have more than 100 000 bed nights per night available right throughout South Africa and in all nine host cities. They also offer visitor tours and even fantastic getaway destinations for in between game times.

All drivers are currently undergoing a screening process and assessment, and their vehicles are being inspected at 75 roadworthy assessment centres across the country.
“We have become the ‘benchmark’ site that visitors, property owners, travel, tour and group operators use to measure services, prices and deliverables,” said Rijn Varney, international sales director of FNA. “We pride ourselves in putting the needs of tourists first, going out of our way to ensure they have a pleasurable and safe experience in South Africa.”
Currently FNA have over 400 000 bed nights available right throughout South Africa and in all nine host cities from hotels, B&Bs, lodges, luxury tented safari camps, resorts and boutique hotels to friendly private residences where guests will have the opportunity to experience genuinely friendly and warm South African hospitality.

The countdown to the World Cup has begun with just 100 days to kick-off. While South Africans are excited about welcoming the world, some problems are expected during June and July.
Dave Varney, CEO of www.footballnights.co.za; an online hospitality service providing accommodation to international guests travelling to South Africa, says a few disruptions and inconveniences can be expected during the soccer World Cup and South African’s should prepare in advance.
Schools will be closed for almost four weeks; air tickets to Cape Town (for example) will cost about R8000 per seat as some flights have to leave same night after the games due to accommodation problems in Cape Town, Durban and Bloemfontein and flights will operate 24 hours a day, adding to an increase in noise and traffic outside of normal peak hours.
“Traffic will increase by about 30 percent at the times of the games as fans go to the grounds or ‘Fan Parks’ (games start at 13h30, 16h00 and 20h30 hrs). ‘Fan Parks’ will be a huge attraction and traffic to and from those areas will be extremely congested and dangerous.
“At one Fan Park in Germany 500,000 people arrived consuming during the events three million sausages and one million litres of beer. It’s expected that 550,000 people will be travelling to/from matches and road areas around stadiums will be closed off so one should really limit travelling during this time,” said Varney.
“With regards to flights, the best time to fly is while matches are on. Plan your trip well in advance; changes to a ticket over this period will be extremely difficult and very expensive. Keep in mind that there will not be parking available at airports, so arrange drop offs.”
Varney added that one should allow for a minimum of two hours to get to the airport in Cape Town and possibly three hours for Johannesburg as the congestion on the roads both to and from the airports is going to be chaotic.”
Get behind the wheel with someone you can trust. FNA ensures international guests travelling to SA for the World Cup aren’t left stranded.

It’s no secret that the current transportation system in South Africa isn’t on the ball, but fortunately www.footballnight.co.za are!
With the soccer World Cup just around the corner, transportation in host country South Africa has come under intense scrutiny with growing and validated concerns over a number of issues, particularly that of safety and security.
Tackling the transport problem head-on is www.footballnights.co.za (FNA). The only full-service, affordable and comprehensive accommodation and services website in South Africa, FNA offers a wide range of tailor-made guest services.
FNA has become the ‘benchmark’ site that visitors, property owners, travel, tour and group operators and many other interested parties use to measure services, prices and deliverables. It’s standards and offerings far exceed other agencies and they have indeed set the standard.
In addition to providing first rate, superior, deluxe and ultra luxurious accommodation at affordable and reasonable rates for local and international guests travelling to South Africa, they also provide all guests with the option of hiring safe, reliable and trust-worthy transportation.
FNA has appointed Trainco Logistic Services to operate and manage ‘FNA Transport & Transfers’. They have the wheels rolling when it comes to ensuring guests aren’t left stranded, by providing a fleet of over 3 500 registered, road-worthy and insured vehicles owner driven by trained, experienced and validated drivers.
To date, FNA have retained over 3500 owner-drivers, from teachers to entrepreneurs, all of whom are committed to ensuring guests have a pleasurable experience. Each driver undergoes a screening process and assessment and their vehicles are inspected at 75 roadworthy assessment centres.
“We realised transport was going to be a major problem during the World Cup and so we have launched an innovative, private initiative to ensure all guests have a friendly, easy and, most importantly, safe journey,” said CEO Dave Varney, who has been in the hospitality and hotel industry for over three decades.
Strike out any possible fouls by leaving the stress of marketing your property up to the professionals.
Experts predict rental of private property ahead of and during the soccer World Cup will be a booming business for home, B&B, hotel, resort and lodge owners who have enlisted their properties in the hands of capable and trustworthy agencies.
www.footballnights.co.za (FNA) is the only premier full service hospitality and private residential website and agency in South Africa. It prides itself in being an innovative industry pace setter, in terms of hospitality and service delivery.
Not only do FNA have the capacity and infrastructure to reach thousands of potential international clients with its vast and continually growing database, but it also aims to assist and provide direction and sound advice to South Africans on how to achieve realistic financial returns for their property rentals.
After 15 months of development FNA was launched last year December after it became clear that there was a definite need for an online hospitality and residential website and agency.
Months of research conducted by FNA into the current property and hospitality market has revealed suitable accommodation for guests travelling to South Africa and wanting to experience the true culture and beauty of our country is in short supply.
While a handful of agencies do exist that offer similar services, very few, if any, offer the range of guest and property owners services or are able to deal with international trust accounts and exclusive homeowner liability.
Most importantly, FNA is the only website and agency in South Africa that provides, amongst its many value added services, one of the most important of all – insurance cover from leading risk services Alexander Forbes, including building and contents insurance, loss of income and liability, as well as visitor insurance for your guests, adding to their ‘peace of mind’ as well.
This added service is undoubtedly a must have, as most personal insurance policies do not cover ‘commercial’ type risk and, if a claim arises as a result of a business operating from home; it will more than likely not be covered.
FNA has three categories of property registration, and Platinum properties are assessed and accredited and their guests are provided with an FNA hospitality guarantee, unique to FNA.
Coming to South Africa for the World Cup but worried you’ll land up living in a tree? Strike out any possible fouls by leaving the stress of finding suitable accommodation up to the professionals.
www.footballnights.co.za (FNA) is the only comprehensive full service hospitality site in South Africa, providing a wide range of tailor-made guest services and a huge selection of three to five-star properties. From homes, hotels and B&Bs to resorts, game lodges and luxury tented safari camps, FNA assures peace-of-mind for tourists looking for accommodation.
After 15 months of development FNA was launched last year December after it became clear that there was a definite need for an online hospitality and residential website and agency. Research into the current hospitality market confirms that SA currently has a shortage of suitable accommodation available. This could mean that thousands of international guests arriving in South Africa might literally find themselves homeless.
While a handful of agencies do exist that offer rental services, many have dropped the ball when it come to looking at the specific needs of the overseas traveller. Some even deserve a red card for their unsporting behaviour, committing offside acts just to secure a booking.
True, FNA can’t guarantee your favourite team will make it to the finals at the World Cup, but they do have the capacity and infrastructure to attend to the specific needs of each and every international visitor. Leaders in the field of hospitality, they go against the run of play by offering unique services that are second to none. Their newly launched blog, www.globalpillow.com, provides humouristic direction and advice to foreigners wanting to have a positive South African experience.
footballnights.co.za is designed to be simple to use and lists properties available from all over South Africa. International guests can browse through hundreds of colour photographs and descriptions of properties on offer. Once they’ve chosen a suitable property they can make an immediate booking.
In the event that the property selected is not available for occupation, FNA will collect the guests and book them into the nearest compatible property at no extra cost to the guest.
The visitor services menu is another significant feature that sets FNA apart. Great care has been taken to select service partners who offer a range of services, designed specifically to provide visitors with every possible convenience, comfort and service from insurance, flights, tours and transport to mobile phones, concierge, security and safaris - over 30 useful service features, all of which are realistically priced.
“All aspects of one’s stay in Southern Africa are taken care of. Together with the FNA Getaway Destination Collection (designed for the periods in between games)
guests can experience the awesome beauty of our country. We have daily or one to five nights excursions to places like the Drakensberg, wine routes, safaris and casinos, as well as tours other attractions in all nine host cities and surrounds,” said FNA’s CEO Dave Varney, who has been in the hospitality and hotel industry for over three decades.
“We are confident that our guests will have a positive stay in South Africa and as such will continue offering our services beyond 2010 and the World Cup. Our aim is to develop relationships with international guests so we are the first port of call if they ever want to return to South Africa in the future," said Varney.
If you’re one who believes in reaching your goal first time around, than get on the ball and look no further than FNA. Find your dream accommodation now by logging onto www.footballnights.co.za, or phone them at (011) 277-0000 for more information.
FNA Assists Flood of Property Owners Ahead of the World Cup
Tuesday, 26 January 2010
FootballNights.co.za (FNA), an online hospitality service, has stepped up to the penalty spot and is assisting large numbers of disappointed South Africans in marketing their properties to international guests visiting the country during the World Cup.
The comprehensive full hospitality service site is receiving countless requests from hospitality establishments and private residential homes following a decision by Match, Fifa’s accommodation agent.
Match recently relinquished the bed nights it initially reserved, back to local hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses, amounting to roughly 15 000 beds per night.
It’s alleged a number of properties registered were overpriced, which led to a decrease in the number of visitors prepared to rent out the properties.
In addition, it would appear that home owners being recruited by estate agents are also being charged anywhere between 30 and 50 percent commission, and may well follow the fate of the Match properties.
Inflated prices may well exacerbate the poor reservation response experienced in that arena, compared to the admittedly few professional hospitality sites such as FootballNights.co.za, which charge just 13 to 20 percent commission depending on the package the property owner selects.
In response, hotel, guesthouse and property owners are turning to FNA’s hospitality platform to reach the international community.
“It was more or less inevitable that homes would be released, and Match should be commended for doing this timeously,” said Dave Varney, CEO of FNA.
“The initial euphoria was unrealistic and South Africans were encouraged, one way or another, to climb on the money bandwagon. The international football community have been there many times before, and this demonstrates that they clearly differentiate between reliable, value-for-money accommodation and services, and the ‘bandwagon brigade’.”
Varney continued to say that FNA is processing bookings from R1 500 for three nights to group bookings of R20-million, and reservation requests and referrals for two to five-star accommodation, are coming in daily, at a very healthy and encouraging pace.
“We are delighted with the large number of home and establishment owners utilising our services and, as we understand from research conducted, the majority of visitor bookings will only start from the end of March onwards, and we are looking forward to welcoming even more local and international clients onboard.”
‘Notwithstanding our respect & admiration for all of the official organising bodies of this year’s World Cup, FNA has no direct or indirect affiliation with any of the official organisations’
